A rich and peaty Port Charlotte from the Bruichladdich distillery that is the latest addition to their cask exploration series. was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon and second-fill French wine casks before a final year marrying in French oak. The wood has had profound effects on the whisky, bringing creamy chocolate, citrus fruits, maple syrup and rich coffee to the smooth, peaty spirit. It’s a combination that works wonders. This is definitely not a dram you want to miss out on.
