This Calvados 39 Year Old is an old product of France. It was distilled in 1974 and aged for 39 years before being bottled. It comes from cask # 910 and only 120 bottles were ever released.
Glen Grant 37 Year, dried fruit aromas abound with prevailing orange peel and coffee grounds. The palate gives rich bursts of citrus as the flavours swell to give teasing performances from the fruit, nut and coffee sections. This is as graceful a classic old Speysider as one is likely to find and remarkably lively given its 37 years in the oak.
Glen Grant 46 Year, distilled at the Glen Grant distillery in 1967, this bottle has been aging for a period of 46 years which is extraordinary even for well-aged whisky standards. It was finally bottled in 2013. Spending almost half a decade in sherry hogshead surroundings has created a deep and wonderfully balanced whisky. This is bottle 45 of only 169. Bottled at cask strength, 50.50%.
Glenfarclas Family Cask 40 Year, only one of 473 bottles of this well-aged Glenfarclas whisky! Distilled in 1971, then bottled in 2011 by Silver Seal. Rich amber colour, sherry, cherries, small red fruits. Hints of wood, wax and sultanas. Full bodied and creamy. Sweet with sherry, red fruits, sultanas, wood. Long, dry and spicy, very complex and well balance. A winter warmer or to be paired with foie gras, blue cheese such a stilton, game such as venison, panna cotta or chocolate with high acidity.
A delightful Glenglassaugh 40 Year Old from indie bottler, Woolf Sung, distilled in December of 1972 and then bottled in January 2013. It was matured entirely in an ex-Sherry butt and each bottle has been hand numbered. Only 160 bottles of this fine whisky were ever released. This Ledaig 37 Year Old is a truly impressive dram. It was distilled in 1972 at the Isle of Mull's Tobermory distillery, then known as Ledaig. It was then aged in Oloroso Sherry casks for 37 years before being bottled in 2010. Only 152 bottles were made available.
