Three Rivers is a Japanese independent bottler that imports the best Scotch that they can get their hands on before bottling and releasing it to the Japanese market.

The fact that nearly all Three Rivers whiskies are released only in Japan makes them incredibly rare and tough to get your hands on. Fortunately we have a fantastic sourcing team here at Whisky Foundation so we can get our hands on these whiskies and make them available to the world.

Three Rivers whiskies can often be easily identified by their artistic labels that feature hand-drawn animals.

A single-malt from the Auchentoshan distillery in the Scottish Lowlands. This bottle is one of many that was released in partnership by The Whisky Agency and Japanese indie bottlers, Three Rivers. Their joint releases have been well received and this Auchentoshan 21 Year Old is just as delightful as the rest.

A delightful Islay 6 Year Old 'Dinosaur' bottled by Three Rivers independent bottling company in Tokyo. This single malt release has to be seen as one of the sought after in the industry. It's a young whisky, at just 6 Years Old, but that doesn't mean it's not full of flavour and this has to come down to the quality of the refill sherry hogshead cask that is was aged in. Even the label of this one will grab your attention, and that's before a drop of the spirit has passed your lips.  Bottled at 58.9% with limited number of bottles ever released.

An interesting Mannochmore 27 Year Old by Three Rivers indie bottling company. If you've not heard of the distillery before, don't worry, not many have. It's a small operation close to Elgin in Speyside that runs on steam (really classy!). They don't produce a whole lot of spirit every year so getting your hands on a 27 Year Old is a real coup.
