This Ardbeg Blaaack is a brand new release from the famous Islay distillery that was released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, founded in 2000. For the first time in the distillery’s history, they rounded up a number of top quality pinot noir casks, sourced from the furthest country in the world from Islay – New Zealand. Islay and New Zealand have more in common than you may think, with wet, cool winters and sheep outnumbering locals by at least 7:1, plus, they produce incredible wine, making this the perfect match for a special release.
On the nose it brings rich fruit pudding, bitter cherry and a gentle creaminess, before the palate arrives with signature Ardbeg peat smoke, smoking coal and toasted oak. It’s a beautiful dram that is highly limited in numbers – we expect this one to sell out fast.
