This Craigellachie 21 Year Old is a gorgeous new single malt whisky released to commemorate the approaching Zodiac year – The Year of the Rat. This stunning single cask whisky comes from two of our favourites in the industry, the Craigellachie distillery and independent bottler Or Sileis. The distillery is known for their astounding, often limited edition, single malt expressions, while the bottler is one of the best in the world at finding delicious casks and releasing them in superbly designed bottles that really stand out from the crowd.
Distilled at the Speyside distillery in 1997, the liquid was then placed into a carefully selected sherry hogshead cask and left to mature for just over 21 years. The cask imparted a rich, fruity and elegant array of notes onto the spirit, including salted caramel, dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, winter berries and a number of gentle spices. They really come alive on your nose and palate and are complemented by a lingering finish that tops it off in style.
The bottle and box are equally as brilliant in their own right. A warming shade of red makes up the background, while an intricately designed golden cask and rather happy looking rat adorn the middle of the label. It’s a sophisticated and unique design that sets the whisky apart from anything else in your cabinet and make it a must have for collector’s.
With only 267 bottles of this fine whisky produced, it’s expected to sell-out fast so pre-order now to make sure you get your hands on one.
