Here we have an incredible new whisky in stock from The Macallan Distillery that combines art, Scottish heritage and whisky history to create an expression that is as iconic as it is eye-catching.
Created in collaboration with famous artist, Sir Peter Blake, who the Macallan Distillery have worked with many times throughout the years, “An Estate, A Community and a Distillery” honours Sir Peter’s visit to the Macallan Estate in stunningly elegant fashion. The label, which features famous Scots from a number of fields, was digitally designed by the legendary artist and it epitomises Scotland’s community spirit in every way.
The whisky inside is equally as impressive, just as we have come to expect from The Macallan. It was carefully tended to by the distillery’s Master of Wood throughout its maturation period and as a result it brings a complex but well-balanced array of beautiful aromas and flavours to the table.
The nose brings rich dried fruits backed up by clove spice and subtle hints of orange peel, before the palate arrives with more dried fruits, cracked black pepper, treacle, and building vanilla. The finish is long and rich, with oak, cocoa and cinnamon all making themselves known.
This all comes packaged inside a stunning presentation case that holds the bottle alongside a certificate detailing the artwork and the inspiration behind it, as well as a printed version of the artwork itself. This bottling is one of those incredible limited editions that only comes around so often, and is likely to sell out fast. It’s appearance is jaw-dropping and the liquid inside is simply mouth-watering.
