Benrinnes 19 Year, this lovely Benrinnes is a 2016 single cask bottling. It was distilled in August 1997 and was aged for 19 years before being bottled in December 2016 at 57.9% abv.
About Benrinnes
Benrinnes is a distillery in Aberlour, Northern Scotland, it has been in continuous operation since its founding in 1826, but none the less, it has not been an entirely smooth ride. It was destroyed in flood just three years later, and rebuilt in 1835. A little later it went bankrupt, was then sold number of times. It was damaged by fire in 1896, rebuilt and rebuilt again in 1955, and expanded in 1966.
Since then, most of the equipment has been updated. Rare among Scottish distilleries, Benrinnes stands out for having employed a partial triple distillation process of its whiskies until 2007. It also made use of a Saladin Malting system from 1964 to 1984, these days it does though by its own malt
Generally speaking Benrinnes does not do its own official bottling, instead the majority of the spirits produced at this distillery is used in blends such as Johnnie Walker and J&B. It is currently owned by the Diago Group.

This excellent Royal Brackla single malt was created at the Highland distillery in 2001 and matured in a sherry hogshead cask for 17 years before being bottle by Carn Mor for their brilliant ‘Celebration of the Cask’ series.
