This beautiful whisky from the excellent Deanston distillery in the Scottish Highlands was distilled in 2009 and matured for around 9 years, including a finishing period in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, before being bottled by The Maltman in 2019. The finishing period has had profound effects on the liquid, giving in a dark mahogany colour and notes of stick dates, spiced oak, toffee, stewed fruits and a burst of fresh berries. It’s a truly excellent dram that any sherry-lover will adore.
With only 156 bottles produced, it’s worth grabbing while you still can.
