This unique single malt brings together whisky and music, two passions of The Macallan whisky maker, Steve Bremner. Bremner is known to be an avid house DJ and he feels that “Building music is in some ways the same as building whisky. In music, you have to down the base track, just like you create the base flavour in whisky, and then you build layers around them”. It is an interesting concept and one that has resulted in a truly fine dram.
Matured in a mix of Sherry-seasoned American oak casks, Miguel Martin Sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels, it brings aromas of rich toffee apple, oak spice, blackberries and hints of pistachio on the nose, followed by apple pie, a gentle nuttiness and cinnamon spice on the palate. The finish is medium sweet with spices lingering in the background.
This exceptional new Macallan single malt will be released exclusively for travel retail, but you can get your bottle right here at Whisky Foundation.
