Diageo recently announces that they would be releasing one final whisky in their hugely popular and collectable Game of Thrones Whisky Collection – a stunning Mortlach 15 Year Old titled “Six Kingdoms”. Unlike the other eight bottles in the collection, each of which is named after a different house of Westeros, this one pays tribute to the contentious show finale, when the seven kingdoms of Westeros became six after the North was declared independent.
It comes in an absolutely stunning bottle featuring a black label with elegant gold writing and a gold depiction of the three-eyed raven on the front. The tube is equally as gorgeous and has a real air of luxury about it, which is fitting for the last bottle in this rare and unique series of whiskies.
The whisky itself was distilled at the popular Mortlach distillery and aged in first-fill sherry-seasoned casks before being finished in American oak ex-bourbon casks. It brings a delicious range of spices, winter fruits, vanilla and an unparalleled smoothness to your nose and palate.
