The Ardbeg Kelpie was the distillery’s release for Ardbeg Day 2017 and it has become something of a fan favourite. Matured in a combination of virgin Black Sea oak and bourbon barrels, it is a rich, indulgent and complex dram that brings toffee apples, dark chocolate, smoky bacon and oily peat on the nose before making way for light pepper, Turkish coffee, black olives and a burst of citrus notes on the palate. The finish is very long with subtle smoke and treacle toffee. This is an exquisite whisky that you’ll want to savour.
