These exceptional expressions, embodying the refined character of Glendronach whisky, have been meticulously curated by Rachel Barrie, the lead mixologist at Glendronach. Each whisky encapsulates the distinctive Glendronach style, guiding enthusiasts on a journey to discover the pinnacle of richness in Spanish Sherry barrel-aged whisky.
Its aroma is an abundant note of dark, polished fruit, including cherries, cranberries, tangerines, and mirabelles, that greet the senses. The aroma evolves with elements of leather satchels, lacquer, plump raisins, and spent espresso grounds. Stem ginger and angelica add liveliness, while fine bonfire toffee and cocoa-dusted truffles provide a luxurious depth. With the addition of water, the nose reveals a vivid array of wild berries and underlying earthiness, with an orange note transitioning to a syrupy, cordial sweetness.
Its flavor is luxuriant and expansive, the palate delivers walnut whips, rich chocolate gateaux, and juicy oranges. A backbone of dark hedgerow berries complements the well-aged polish, with subtle citrus hints. Cinnamon, ginger, and cask pepper envelop the back palate, while well-aged leatherette and the essence of old books bring the expected austerity from over a quarter of a century of maturation. Dilution maintains an impressive body, retaining the glorious dunnage earthiness invigorated with perfectly balanced darker fruits.
