Description
This Lagavulin 12 Year Old was one of Diageo’s sought after ‘Special Releases’ for 2019. It was matured in refill American oak casks that have brought delicious sweet notes to the smoky, maritime spirit. Freshly sliced apples, cinnamon and oak are apparent on the nose, before peat smoke, sea salt, freshly cut grass and an array of gentle spices appear on the palate. It’s a sweeter dram than fans of Lagavulin will be used to, but it still has that good kick of peat smoke that warms the belly.
