Introducing the first release of the two types of blended malt Scotch whisky from the recently launched The MIME series. Distilled in 1997, The Mime bearing the Deer label was matured for 24 years in hogshead casks. Bottled in 2021 at a strength of 54.4% for Shinanoya in the Scottish area of Speyside.
Crafted with notes of lemon, pear, and bergamot, along with a scent of dry oak, vanilla cream, mocha, malt, and honey croissant. Not to mention the subtle aroma of the cashews and butter cookies. The vibrant flavors of fresh fruits, such as oranges and apricots, enhanced by the addition of honey. Refreshing aromas of dried apple, ginger, and apricot finish the lengthy, delicious aftertaste.
The MIME series comprises bottled Shinanoya original whiskies, the identity of distillery is kept under wraps for certain reasons. The word “pantomime,” which refers to a silent drama in which only body language and facial emotions are utilized in place of spoken words, is the source of the series’ name. Similar to this series, the introduction of a blended malt or a single malt conveys the unspoken spirit of the distillery. The label gives you a glimpse as to what’s inside the distillery. The first and second teaspoon malt blended whiskies were both distilled in the 1990s in the Speyside region. These two classically crafted, gracefully matured whiskies have a delicious, barley-like body that you will genuinely love.
