The Benriach 27 year old was created as a limited release for the Tokyo International Bar show, bottled in February 2013 at a strength of 42.2%. It was one of the 222 bottles in the bar show. This whisky was distilled in 1985 and matured in single hogshead cask for 27 years by the Benriach distillery.
Benriach distillery, the single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Scotland which is currently owned by Brown-Forman Corporation. It was established in 1898 by John Duff in North Speyside south of Elgin, close to the other distillery owned by Duff, the Longmorn distillery.
This distillery now produces both peated and unpeated single malt and is one of only seven distilleries still operating its own in house floor maltings.
