This incredible new Limited Edition single malt from Bowmore is the first in a series of four expressions being released by the distillery that will honour the ‘Four Guardians’ of Chinese mythology – the Azure Dragon of the East, the White Tiger of the West, the Vermilion Bird of the South and the Black Turtle of the North.
Matured for 36 Years in ex-sherry casks, it brings aromas of cedar, beeswax, tropical fruits and liquorice on the nose. These are followed by a fine balance of dried fruits, roasted coffee beans, walnuts, gentle peat, dried figs and rich floral notes on the palate. The finish brings hints of black pepper, cinnamon, rich oak and building peat that last for some time. It’s an exquisite combination that you’re not likely to forget in a hurry.
This all comes packaged in a stunningly designed bottle that features the Azure Dragon of the East and an expertly crafted box that doubles as a display case.
A total of 888 bottles will be released for Whisky L Shanghai festival and selected retailers in China, so this incredible whisky won’t be available in Europe or the US, but we’ve been working closely with our trusted suppliers and we’re delighted to be able to bring a very limited quantity of bottles to our loyal customers. Whether you’re a huge fan of Bowmore, or a collector looking to add this rare expression to your whisky cabinet, this is a release that you don’t want to miss out on.
