This Braes of Glenlivet 24 Year Old was produced in Scotland’s Speyside region at the distillery more commonly known as Braeval. This relatively new distillery, built in 1973 by the Chivas and Glenlivet Group, sits in very close proximity to the famous Glenlivet distillery but produces a much smaller amount of liquid every year, making their expressions rare and collectible.
Much of the whisky produced at the Braes of Glenlivet is used in premium blends made in Scotland, with only tiny amounts seen as single malts. Even independent bottlers struggle to get their hands on casks from here. However, every now and again, one lucky bottler manages to get hold of the distillery’s rare single malt liquid and the releases are exquisite.
This unique bottling from Or Sileis was produced in 1994 and matured in a bourbon barrel for 24 years before bottling at cask strength in 2018. It’s a smooth, fruity and well-rounded dram that comes in a bottle adorned by a stunning label that will stand apart in your whisky cabinet. With only 137 bottles available, this one is expected to sell out fast!
