Caol Ila Scotch whisky distillery released “The Iridescent Cask Series”. They use the 1st Fill Oak cask and 1st Fill Bourbon Cask. Those are matured for six years in Chicago in four wooden barrels to explore the interaction between whisky and wooden barrels.

The Iridescent Cask Caol Ila 2011 6 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 1st Fill Oak Cask has a soft peat style releasing an aroma of fresh orange and mint. The Iridescent Cask Caol Ila 2011 6 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 1st Fill Bourbon Cask has a strong peat and seawater style with a hint flavors of bacon and spices, changes to warm sweetness. The color rainbow pattern on the whisky label, Chicago Jazz and Blues, is designed to express that the music fusion is as fascinating as the connection of barrels and whiskies.
