Kilchoman Distillery produced Kilchoman 2012 Rum Finish single malt Scotch whisky in a single cask release. It was distilled on July 2012, aged in ex-bourbon barrel and finished in ex-rum cask, and bottled on January 2019 for Bresser & Timmer.
Kilchoman 2012 Rum Finish single cask has a scent of small peat contrasted by vanilla and sugar cane. Rich texture in the palate, the peat is well expressed first, then followed by spicy notes of cardamom and habanero peppers. Balanced by softened hints of vanilla, caramel and milk chocolate. A clear and defined well flavored sweet and smoky finish.
Kilchoman distillery is an independent, family run distillery on Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides that produces single malt Scotch whiskies and founded by Anthony Wills. It began the production in December 2005 and first to be built in 1908 on Islay. One of the six Scottish distilleries still working in traditional floor malting, completing the whisky making process, from growing barley to malting, distilling, maturing, up to bottling on Islay.
