White Horse Scotch Whisky matured in wood and bottled in 1940 by Appointment to His Majesty The King, by Lagavulin Distillery from the island of Islay.
The White Horse Distiller originated in 1880 and founded by whisky merchants, James Logan Mackie & Co. After few years, they bought a stake in Lagavulin Distillery in Islay, which trained James’ nephew Peter Mackie the art of distilling and blending. Then he joined the company and launched the White Horse blend. It was reorganized and became White Horse Distillers after Peter Mackie died in 1924.
